Some interesting MPs: Young and online?

While the election is over, we in the tech community should consider this the beginning of the next level. We now need to transition into learning about all the local MPs, some who are first time politicians and some who are quite young. We need to meet with them so that they know the perspective on important federal issues from the independent technology community.

Some new NDP MPs who are already being discussed coincidentally replaced Bloc MPs who attended at least one of the Bill C-32 committee hearings.

At 19 years and 11 months, Pierre-Luc Dusseault, the new MP for Sherbrooke - Quebec, is the youngest person ever elected to Parliament.

Ruth Ellen Brosseau is the new MP for Berthier--Maskinongé - Quebec, became noticed during the election because she speaks little French and took time off during the campaign to vacation in Las Vegas. She is somewhere in her 20's, but amusingly on Wikipedia there are links to articles suggesting a variety of ages. A woman never tells? Even when still in her 20's? Careful with the fake Facebook page floating around: someone is doing something that may seem funny, but could get them into a lot of trouble.

Did you meet your MP during the election? What were your thoughts? Are you willing to get in touch with them to set up a meeting over the summer? I can help if you wish, including going to the meeting with you or on your behalf.
