Industry Canada calls for public input on PIPEDA reform

Briony Smith has an article in ITWorld Canada describing the current consultation Industry Canada is doing on Canada's federal privacy legislation PIPEDA.

Those in this community should remember that it was the requirement under PIPEDA for a warrant before ISPs could disclose the identities of alleged file sharing Canadians that primarily differentiates the Canadian and US situation on P2P filesharing. If the copyright holders had filed a minimum of easily obtained evidence to the court they would have received the requested information.
