Should your firm be FLOSSing?

An article by Paul Chin, Special to The Globe and Mail talks about how FLOSS is an increasingly viable option.

There were a number of mistakes in this article, and some outdated misconceptions about how one obtains support from a full spectrum of options (from volunteer to the largest commercial support companies) for FLOSS. I believe that Mike Gifford's quote was inappropriately edited given most people think all software installation (FLOSS or not) is 'scary', and the reporter tried to invalidly suggest that this only applied to FLOSS. This is important for operating systems where most people stick with whatever their vendor installed, and don't ever install any operating system (FLOSS or otherwise).
