Google's battle for wireless spectrum

Marguerite Reardon, Staff Writer, CNET interviews Chris Sacca, head of special initiatives at Google, about the US wireless auction.

When this was discussed recently on TWIT it was interesting how all these tech reporters agreed that nobody would morn their current wireless carriers if they folded. This should be important market information for the incumbents to realize that their primary customer base (affluent techies) would be happy to see them entirely replaced.

In the past I wrote the folks at the Google Public Policy BLOG to ask if they have people in Canada, given much of their work overlaps between the US and Canada.

So far their answer is that, "our policy team is tightly focused on some particular initiatives at this time". They are aware of my interest that Google consider Canada, and hopefully will think of me to let me know of any future initiatives.
