online, peer-reviewed, international encyclopedia.
Nupedia is a new online, peer-reviewed, international encyclopedia. It is
searchable and will also be organized hierarchically and alphabetically. Nupedia is "open content" or "free"; we
want the contents of the encyclopedia to receive the widest possible distribution. Reading Nupedia.com will always be free of charge and therefore the project of
building it depends on volunteers--possibly you!

Unbiased? Professional? [99]

I had initially fowarded this link to people who write articles on globolization.
However, a quick fly over the web site seemed to indicate two things which i have concern about:
- The level of academic years completed. Nupedia seemed to not necessarly demand a PhD on the topic you are writting. But what about those who have no degree, but yet have wroked on lot on research in a particular field of globalization?
- Biases. When one writes such on a complex subject as globalization, how can one not be biased?

Just because you have a PhD sure doesn't necessarily mean that you know what you're talking about.
Then again, not having one doesn't mean anything either.
What have you read in other encyclopedias about globalisation?

Do you think that it is possible for a community based endeavour such as this to maintain a high quality of information?
I hope so.
What are your thoughts?
