Canada's laissez-faire stance on Microsoft stifles innovation

The Globe and Mail has carried two stories recently which I hilighted in a posting today to the Canada DMCA Opponents forum.

From November 16 - 18, the Finance Ministers and central bank governors of the Group of 20 (G20) nations, as well as key segments of the World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) will meet in Ottawa.

In the days leading up to this meeting I will write a number of personal commentaries on the WTO, WIPO, and the G20 with specific commentary on the Bretton Woods Institutions (the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank). I see very direct connections between the lack of enforcement and strengthening of Competition Policy and Consumer Protection policy, and the very unbalanced nature of the current operations of the WTO and G20.
