New Weblog replaces old FLORA Homepage

We have now upgraded the FLORA Homepage to, rather than having a very simplified hilighting system, to use a full-featured Weblog system.

Please submit articles which might be appropriate for inclusion in this Weblog.

What is a Weblog? This description from weblogs.com is the best description I have seen:

Weblogs are often-updated sites that point to articles elsewhere on the web, often with comments, and to on-site articles. A weblog is kind of a continual tour, with a human guide who you get to know. There are many guides to choose from, each develops an audience, and there's also comraderie and politics between the people who run weblogs, they point to each other, in all kinds of structures, graphs, loops, etc.

Note: Not all features are configured, but we wanted to set this service up early to give more visability to the information we expect to be publishing in the aftermath of the Quebec FTAA peoples summit.

Technical note: this site makes use of PHPSlash.

Just read some ideas from WebReview.com for retaining eyeballs and squeezing revenue out of weblogs. Many of the things mentioned are being done here, except with Free Software. Our chief problem is getting the rest of the progressive community to adopt these newer online community building technologies. Heck, i still have no interactivity at all on my business website. If i could just get a few months off...
