Signing the petition
I sent emails to all three candidates towards the end of April with a link to the petition, a brief overview of it, and asked whether they would (a) sign it and (b) help with collecting signatures.
I only got a reply from Peter Julian who has agreed to sign the petition. I haven't yet collected the signature.
Questions for Candidates
I sent emails to both Mary Pynenburg and Mike Redmond with our Questions for Candidates today (It didn't seem worth sending them to Peter Julian as he has already committed to signing the petition).
Will post follow-ups as and when I get responses.
More than just signing petition
This is great to hear.
I think that answers to our questionnaire would provide a great platform for a supportive candidate to express their views. Even where a candidate answers "yes" for our last question (will you sign...), provide them the opportunity to provide constituents with details.

More questions to Candidates
I sent the same email to Revel Kunz (Green Party candidate) today.
No replies yet.
The other thing I did is printed out the questions to candidates and the petition itself to have ready to give to any door-to-door canvassers.
sent to another candidate
The Canadian Action Party's Dana Green.
That leaves just the Communist Party, and I can't find any contact information for their candidate.
My wife dropped off a paper copy of the questions for candidates at the Liberal Party candidate's campaign headquarters today.
Follow-up emails
I sent follow-ups to the Conservatives, Liberals and Green Party today.
All candidates meeting - Thu 17 June
We get just one all-candidates meeting before the election :
Thursday 17 June 7pm
in the gymnasium, Lord Kelvin Community School, 1010 Hamilton St.
Present will be all the candidates except for Dana Green.
Organiser is Christopher Bell 604-524-9502 for the New Westminster West Side Residents Association.
I intend to ask the candidates :
Why haven't you signed the Petition for Users' Rights under Copyright ? Don't you believe that the rights currently enjoyed by users of copyrighted works (or maybe "books, movies, music") should be preserved ?
I'm told that the organiser is an NDP supporter, so hopefully he'll be keen to allow this question given that the NDP candidate is the only one who has agreed to sign the petition. I'm going to call him today.
