Step 2: Select Electoral District / Riding

To select or correct your riding, use one of the following:

• postal code lookup.
• list of ridings (by province).

Once you have navigated to the correct riding that shows the right member of parliament, please select the option set as "my electoral district", and return to this page.

Step 3: Send letter to your member of parliament

Once you have logged in and selected your riding, you will be presented with a form with a letter you can edit to send to your member of parliament. The letter will look something like the following:

Dear <Your member of parliament> Member for <Your riding> I am writing this letter to you as a constituent to draw your attention to a package you recently received in the mail from a group of Ottawa citizens. The contents of the package are detailed at http://goslingcommunity.org/mp/ The focus of this project was to provide Members of Parliament with information about global Free/Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) communities. Parliament regulates the software sector in many ways, and we want to ensure that MPs are aware of all choices so that all alternatives are supported and protected in law. Would you be willing to meet with me and/or members of our community to discuss FLOSS? The parliament and government of Canada often make decisions where knowledge of FLOSS would be a valuable asset.
