James Moore, MP, Port Moody-Westwood-Port Coquitlam, wrote a reply to a constituent question about copyright.

OTTAWA, June 22, 2005, Peter Kieser

Dear Mr. Kieser:

Thank you for taking the time to communicate your concerns regarding Bill C-60, An Act to amend the Copyright Act, tabled in the House of Commons June 20, 2005.

With rapidly changing technology and information management, I recognize that Canada's copyright laws are in need of review with respect to file sharing and digital media. But, as you suggested, this reform must balance copyright protection with enhancements for the free flow of information in all its forms.

;:Thank you for the opportunity to answer your questionnaire. I have been a computer hobbyist for a long period of time, and also have followed some of the issues dealing with information technology, and I can honestly say, I have a lot more to learn.
