Read: [next] [previous] messageRe: [d@DCC] Discussing Copyright on other BLOGs.From: "Joe McGuire" <tinfoil _-at-_ gmail.com> "The copyright act needs to become more generic and easier to understand, not more like a union negotiated contract that spells out every possible inter-personal relationship of creators. Those environment-specific power dynamics should be dealt with in other legislation such that they don't have the massive "unintended" (uncaring, depending on who you will talk to) consequences that placing them in the Copyright Act will cause." Generic in law is idealistic and leaves too much room for interpretation by people who don't have the moral standing to use the law in a way benefiting society, rather they would use it in a way for their own personal gain. Common sense is not universal. -- Joe McGuire aka Tinfoil Tinfoil Music - Digital Media and Music News http://tinfoilmusic.net ------ I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@list.digital-copyright.ca http://list.digital-copyright.ca/mailman/listinfo/discuss Read: [next] [previous] message List: [newer] [older] articles You need to subscribe to post to this forum. |
