Some points and questions: 1 - This reminds me of a post in which Russell discussed an un-publication via Google. 2 - A quick define: estopel on google suggests that estoppel is the correct spelling. ;-) 3 - When is the AfD (Article scheduled for Deletion - had to look that up too)? 4 - A quick look on the discussion page suggests that citing "mainstream media" sources would be "a good start." I personally believe this is BS - "mainstream media" exists to sell information. Academic sources, fine. Mainstream media - no way; that's a "poluarity vote." (Perhaps it was once different, but after losing my brother late last year and watching the media circus that descended upon my family, I can say, first-hand, that "public interest" comes in second place for "mainstream media.") 5 - I can't afford to commit to becoming even a part-time WP editor, but would be willing to offer research assitance to such. 6 - What personalities are connected to DCC that might be able to offer some "mainstream media" assistance? This is truly sad - I've seen considerably worse articles on WP before but this is the first AfD I've run across. I use Wikipedia almost daily. -- Scott Elcomb [ http://www.psema4.com/ ] "Our Founders' faith in the viability of representative democracy rested on their trust in the wisdom of a well-informed citizenry, their ingenious design for checks and balances, and their belief that the rule of reason is the natural sovereign of a free people." - Al Gore (The Assault on Reason, 2008) "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin '"A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." - Mark Twain _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@list.digital-copyright.ca http://list.digital-copyright.ca/mailman/listinfo/discuss Read: [next] [previous] message List: [newer] [older] articles You need to subscribe to post to this forum. |
