[d@DCC] Private Copying consultation deadline nearing

The deadline for filing objections to the proposed private copying levy for 2007-2008 is Wed April 11th.

The proposal is to increase the levy on CD-Rs and CD-RWs to 29 cents, to add a levy of up to $10 on memory cards (yes, the kind that I've only seen used in cameras), and to add a levy of up to $75 on "digital audio recorders".

Proposed tariff is at http://cb-cda.gc.ca/tariffs/proposed/c10022007-b.pdf, which also gives the email address to send objections to.
