It's been a long time since Newton asserted that "I stand upon the shoulders of the giants of the past." Indeed the British two pound coin now has an inscription along it's edge "STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS" to commemorate Newton (1642-1727). In a nutshell, the position is this: Nothing emerges from a vacuum. Everything has background and context. Content is part of a larger culture. A Culture evolves as an integrated whole. Cultures influence each other in a global context. b. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@list.digital-copyright.ca http://list.digital-copyright.ca/mailman/listinfo/discuss Read: [next] [previous] message List: [newer] [older] articles You need to subscribe to post to this forum. |
