This has always been my issue with the supporters of the Mickey
Mouse copyright term extension in the States. They say "but it wouldn't
be fair to allow any old company to use Mickey Mouse to sell their stuff".
I say "whether that's true or not isn't an issue, because he'll be a
Disney trademark forever (or at least as long as Disney exists), even 
if Steamboat Willy becomes public domain".
