This may have been mentioned before here, but I don't recall seeing it.

Over the last weekend I rented a DVD movie. It commenced with a highly
emotive "commercial" saying "downloading is illegal" and "downloading =
stealing" and "it's against the law". Now the last one is not, to my
understanding, correct in Canada. In fact, it could be misrepresentation of
the law which I believe is an offence, especially from a large,
well-lawyered corporation.

Does anyone know what remedies there are? Could all the offending DVDs be
removed and a big sign be required (2* as big en franÇais in Quebec)?

If so, it could be a good way to publicise the issues.
