Is this something that some of the DCC folks will be at? May be a
good time to connect with fellow creators, including the musicians.
Might also be a good time to circulate petitions, and to try to talk to
the party representatives.

Musicians, Politicians, Youth. Same room.

Democracy is about making voices heard. Apathy is Boring works with
youth, artists and political leaders in a non-partisan forum to
encourage young people’s participation in the democratic system.

This is about direct democracy. The Civic Duty Concerts will use music
to inspire, educate, and activate. Juno award winners Taima (best
aboriginal recording), and Chris Brown & Kate Fenner will share the
stage with musical guests, and representatives from Canada’s federal
political parties.

Canadian democracy is fragile because young people are disengaged, and
political leaders aren’t making the effort to reach out to us. The
Civic Duty Concerts are not about a photo opp, or a peppy leadership
rally. They are about recognizing that we as young people have real
concerns with the state of democracy and that we can start molding our
democracy into something worth voting for.

“Young voter apathy will be an issue in this next election. Our
political leaders need to make the effort to reach out to us. The next
election will have to be about real issues for young people to get out
and vote.”

that aims to use art, media, and technology to revolutionize democracy.
