I boughtmy wife a GPS unit for christmass, and in looking though the
"quick start guide" one is instucted to click though to acckolege a
copyright page before using the unit each time....

Sorry guys, but yes I promise I will not copy your ROMS, but my location
is hardly the stuff of _Your_ copyright.
