Read: [next] [previous] message[d@DCC] Manual of Patent Office Practice (MOPOP) - updates..From: Russell McOrmond <russell _-at-_ flora.ca> Louis-Pierre Riel, the person in charge of the updates of MOPOP, gave me a call. http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/sc_mrksv/cipo/patents/mopop/mopop-e.html They had a meeting last Monday with patent agents, and while there is still discussions about a chemical area of their updates (updates to chapter 16 on statutory subject matter, and 12 on classifications) the work is pretty much finalized. He is as interested in getting this publicly published as I am, which is great news. The next step once the current practice is published is to try to get the patent policy directorate to work on this area of policy. This will likely require many letters to the Industry minister and other MPs to make this a more politically known topic.
