  When special economic interests like the recording and motion picture
industries claim they need legally protected DRM to protect their business
models, we need to categorically reject not only that claim but if
necessary these business models.  By trying to gain industry control over
ICT they are trying to do is pit their outdated business model against
basic protection of human rights: communications rights, cultural rights,
property rights (right to own/control ICT), democratic rights, etc..

  With a world more and more dependent on ICT, how and who controls ICT
affects nearly all human rights:
