Entertainment World Wary of Microsoft
http://apnews1.iwon.com//article/20040815/D84FRFNO0.html

The media monopolists are afraid of the software monopolists? They are
afraid that Microsoft will use their DRM (and the Legal protection for DRM
that these media monopolists asked for) to lock them into Microsoft and
have Microsoft essentially own/control the movie industry by controlling
the major means of distribution.

I'm sorry if I have no sympathy for their situation given that these
anti-copyright extremists (Hollywood, recording industry, etc) are the
folks that created the problem in the first place. Will Hollywood support
the attempts to remove legal protection for DRM from the law to allow
competition in media tools once the monopolies they created are used
against them rather than only used against everyone else?

I found this on SlashDot. I don't recommend the comments given they are
not often very informed/informative.
