The worry I have is that this sets a precedent of yet another software-only example where this software was mistaken as being a "device" that could circumvent copyright. Software is just knowledge and can not be considered a "device" to commit a crime any more than a good detective novel should be considered a "device" to commit a crime. --- Russell McOrmond, Internet Consultant: <http://www.flora.ca/> Perspective of a digital copyright reformer on Sheila Copps, MP. http://www.flora.ca/russell/drafts/copps-ndp.html Canadian File-sharing Legal Information Network http://www.canfli.org/ -- For (un)subscription information, posting guidelines and links to other related sites please see http://www.digital-copyright.ca Read: [next] [previous] message List: [newer] [older] articles You need to subscribe to post to this forum. |
