CANADIAN ISP REFUSES TO DISCLOSE NAMES IN CRIA ACTION

The Canadian Recording Industry Association heads to court
on Monday seeking the identity of at least 29 customers of
Canada's leading ISPs. Shaw Communications, which provides
high-speed access to nearly 1 million people, has indicated
that it intends to fight the request, arguing that the
privacy rights of its customers trumps the rights of the
recording industry under copyright law.
