Just forwarding.

  There is also a claim to have a "Webcast of the Minister's Forum on
Copyright" at
http://www.pch.gc.ca/progs/ac-ca/progs/pda-cpb/forum/index_e.cfm , but it
doesn't seem to be working right now.  You can look at the pictures which
are full-sized (large) pictures that are resized by your browser (Do a
'view image' on each to see the large version -- poor website-authorship
here for sure to not do proper thumbnails and waste huge amounts of
bandwidth).

Dear Sir or Madam:

The Copyright Policy Branch, Department of Canadian Heritage, is pleased to
announce the latest update of its website.  This site contains news items,
current information and links for anyone who wants to learn more about
general copyright matters and the branch's work in Canadian copyright
policy and law.  Among other things, the "What's New" section has been
updated on: the section 92 review of the Copyright Act; Bill C-11
(addressing the scope of application of the compulsory licence regime to
retransmission of broadcast signals); the copyright implications in Bill
C-36 (a bill to create Library and Archives Canada); the government's work
on digital copyright issues (our short-term legislative reform package);
and our activities on the international scene.  In the "Publications"
section you will also find a new study on Technical Protection Measures
(Parts I and II) prepared by Professor Ian Kerr and others.  We will soon
be posting Professor Daniel Gervais' second study on the "Application of an
Extended Collective Licensing Regime in Canada".  Finally in the
"Consultation on Copyright Reform" icon of our main page, we will soon be
posting a call for comments on possible amendments to the Local signal and
Distant signal Regulations.

La Direction générale de la politique du droit d'auteur du ministère du
Patrimoine canadien a le plaisir de vous informer de la dernière mise à
jour de son site web. Ce site offre des nouvelles, de l'information
actuelle et des liens à quiconque est intéressé d'en apprendre davantage
sur le droit d'auteur en général ainsi que sur le travail accompli par la
Direction générale en matière de politiques et de législation sur le droit
d'auteur au Canada. La rubrique "Quoi de neuf" a été actualisée en
particulier sur les sujets suivants: la révision de l'article 92 de la Loi
sur le droit d'auteur, le projet de loi C-11 (concernant l'application du
régime de licence obligatoire pour la retransmission des signaux de
radiodiffusion), implications du droit d'auteur dans le projet de loi C-36
(un projet de loi pour créer Bibliothèque et Archives du Canada), le
travail du gouvernement sur les questions ayant trait au droit d'auteur à
l'ère numérique (notre programme de réforme législative à court terme) et
nos activités sur la scène internationale. Dans notre rubrique
"Publications" vous trouverez une nouvelle étude sur les Mesures de
protection technique (Partie I et II) préparée par le professeur Ian Kerr
et d'autres. Bientôt nous serons en mesure d'afficher la deuxième étude du
professeur Daniel Gervais sur "L'application d'un régime de licence
collective étendue en droit canadien : principes et questions relatives à
la mise en oeuvre". Enfin nous afficherons très bientôt, sur l'icône
"Consultation sur la réforme du droit d'auteur" de notre page principale,
un appel de propositions sur les modifications possibles aux règlements
relatifs aux signaux locaux et éloignés.
