  Our community should be involved in this one as well, given competition 
policy is one of the ballancing policies to government policies granting 
monopolies such as copyright and patent policy.

Consultations on Proposed Changes to the Competition Act

The Government of Canada announced today that it will launch a consultation 
process with Canadians on proposed changes to the Competition Act, 
including the addition of restitution as a key remedy to deal with consumer 
loss in cases of false or misleading representations. Detailed legislative 
proposals are outlined in a new Government discussion paper entitled 
Options for Amending the Competition Act: Fostering a Competitive 
Marketplace.

Consultations sur des modifications proposées à la Loi sur la concurrence

Le gouvernement du Canada a annoncé aujourd'hui qu'il consultera les 
Canadiennes et les Canadiens sur des modifications proposées à la Loi sur 
la concurrence, incluant l'ajout de la restitution à titre de mesure 
corrective essentielle face au préjudice subi par les consommatrices et les 
consommateurs dans les cas d'indications fausses ou trompeuses. Des 
propositions législatives détaillées sont contenues dans un nouveau 
document de travail du gouvernement intitulé : Options pour la modification 
de la Loi sur la concurrence : La promotion de marchés concurrentiels.
